NIJ Level III+ Body Armor Plate | ESAPI | Light-weight

I ordered this plate to insert in my son’s backpack. The sales rep was super helpful with recommendations on the type of backpack I needed with extra compartments for this shield, and was also more than willing to help me with sizing. I looked at both types of armour type 2 and 3. I found alot of the 2 that was priced similarly to the NIJ III armour. So this is clearly priced well for this better version of the armour that will cover all the way to up to AR15 rounds.

I feel that this is a good shield. Fits right in the pouch that is was designed for. I feel safer having this shield. I am curious how you get out on your free teacher list. I saw on your site that you donate one to a teacher when someone buys one. I am a special education teacher and would like to be put on that list if possible. I thank you.

You really can’t go wrong for the price of these plates and Atomic defense’s quality with all of the questionably cheap and unreliable products out there. Go with a known maker and make sure they’re domestic like Atomic is. They’re a Fresno CA company.

I bought bulletproof Vest & NIJ III AR-15 and AK-47 Bulletproof Armor for both my wife and myself. Product came within a week. No complaints.

Armor was easy to order and arrived quickly. Armor plates fit very well in vest carrier pouches. Snug and fits close to chest. Lighter weight than level 4 plate and easier to wear for longer periods. Price is good. Given all the chaos out there, if you need a vest I would buy at least one level 3 armor plate for the front of the vest. Think of it as life insurance you hope you never need.. Stay safe out there.

I do not work for Atomic Defense. This review is my own opinion. I wear my vest concealed under loose shirts ( trying not to attract attention ). I own both the NIJ 3 and NIJ 4 armor plates. Both plates will stop AR-15 and AK-47 rounds such as the rifles carried by the “peaceful” protestors of BLM. You can shoulder a weapon while wearing a vest using either insert. The NIJ 3 is easier. The NIJ 4 plate will cover more of you than the NIJ3. The NIJ 3 is lighter by about 1/2 lb. SUGGESTIONS: If I’m moving around all day, climbing in-and-out of cars, climbing, etc I choose the NIJ 3 inserts. If I’m in an area of “peaceful” protestors who are carrying rifles, I wear the NIJ 4 insert up front. I pray I won’t have to prove this armor.

I just wanted to say that Atomic Defense was extremely attentive in making sure my order arrived on time and kept me updated, I can only highly recommend them! As for their products, the quality is exceptional, all in all a great company!

Edges looked like they would peel in the pictures. Happy to say I haven’t had that for the 2 years I’ve had these plates.

I bought some insert panels from another company, {Redacted by Website}, and they were horridly heavy, too heavy for my daughter to even think about using. This one was less than 5 lbs and closer to 4 lbs in my opinion and is by far the best I’ve tried.

bought one a few weeks ago and just tested it yesterday it easily handled a .308 two 30-06 multiple .556 multiple 32-20 9mm and .40 both 20 and 12 gauge and some .22 without failing by far the most impressive thing i have ever seen
