The Mira Safety MD-1 is a children’s gas mask designed for protection against various harmful substances, such as poisonous substances, biological aerosols, radioactive dust, iodine radionuclides, and their organic compounds, as well as aerosols like dust, fog, and fumes.
It’s manufactured with durable and chemical-resistant natural rubber, designed with a panoramic polycarbonate visor (>70% field of vision) for improved situational awareness, and includes an oro-nasal inner mask to prevent fogging.
The MD-1 is suitable for use in temperatures ranging from –30 to 50°C and utilizes standard 40 mm NATO threaded filter cartridges.
The gas mask features a 40 mm tube that reduces weight on a child’s face, easing the filter’s carriage in a pouch. With the hose attached, the mask weighs just over 1 lb.
The MD-1 Children’s Gas Mask is available in two sizes: Medium (Children 2 to 6 years old) and Large (Kids 6 to 12 years old).
The mask is compatible with MIRA Safety’s Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR), which improves airflow and offers additional protection from airborne contaminants.
Mira Safety’s PAPR unit is recommended to reduce fatigue, especially for children. It is flexible and can be used with any of MIRA Safety’s 40 mm NATO standard gas masks.
